Most of my day was pretty good (and I finally restarted ModBlog) but had a needlessly stressful end (not that the day is over). Just really irritating stuff that I shouldn't have to deal with. Other than that, I'm keeping a record of what I eat because there's some concern that I'm not eating enough and am losing weight I don't need to or want to be losing. So far today the list loooks pretty meager…
Two red grapefruit
About 50g of pine nuts, and about 50g of almonds
A Rockstar
About 1.5L of water
That's not really very much and I hope I eat more most days, but supper's still ahead. Other than that I have a dark hematoma a bit over my tumor that appeared yesterday (not a particularly unusual thing). I don't know if it's internal bleeding, because I noticed it not long after my leg made a very disturbing snapping noise (I think it's the tendon popping over the tumor), haa… Personally I think it's because I don't have proper feeling in that leg and am constantly shifting it, I'm probably just constantly banging it on stuff and not noticing. A week from today is the first procedure to finally deal with it.
Oh, and that's where I'm at with I think about four months at the gym… I'm still far from where I'd like to be but I think it's going well. I just have to eat more… I weigh less now than I have in my entire adult life (on one hand it's nice not having to carry around so much fat, but on the other hand, I like having mass behind me).
I'm just finishing the update and will either have it posted later tonight or in the morning depending on how long the upload takes… Anyway, until then some videos to pass the time.
I should plug in my capture gear so I can show you a funny video of Roo and Allana dancing in the water as “NEW RECORD HIGH!” flashes in front of them… Anyway, we made both the national and the local news, and the interview was shortened to one sentence so I didn't look too bad.
I thought I was going to be able to do the posting but it's weird… I hit a point in the afternoon, usually somewhere between two and four, and I just crash totally. I can't hardly stay awake let alone really think straight. If I can't get this finished shortly I will just post it in more “ugly” form instead.
DOGS.
CATS.
BIRDS.
BEATBOX BIRDS.
At the swim today both Global News (video) and The Globe and Mail (print) happened to be there, the first because they were doing a report on the unusually warm weather, and the latter because she'd just gone for a walk with friends. So if you watch the news tonight I guess we may be on it again… I think it's the worst interview I've ever done. Seriously, note to self: don't do interviews right after getting out of freezing water.
Anyway, if you see me, and you think, “wow, Shannon is a lot dumber than I thought”, it's a false positive, honest. Other than that, Clive sent me this wonderful semi-underground house…
So my landlords paid I think around $300k for the house I live in. It was brand new when they bought it and is I think about three years old, and already every house in the subdivision is falling apart. For me, I keep looking at all these steel pre-fab/bolt-together farm buildings as an alternative to earthships and other methods that appeal to me… they cost almost nothing and I could dump a bunch of insulated ones on a nice rural property and finish it off with scrap windows and so on, and do it for a small enough amount of money that I could probably do it without a mortgage.
Anyway, I know most people care as much about how their house looks (so for example, this building here is covered in external columns and so on that are just thin stucco'd plywood — not just useless, but design features that will actually speed up the decay of the house), rather than investing themselves in making sure that it's warm, comfortable, and will protect them for a lifetime… Oh, and yes, I know that greenhouse in my drawing would collapse under the snow. I was just doodling while I was taking a break.
