Don't just stare at it. Eat it.

Is it just me, or does Will from Will & Grace seem more like Patrick Bateman from American Psycho as time goes by? His look and mannerisms becoming more like Bateman (as portrayed by Christian Bale) every episode (seriously; if you watch the show tonight, keep that in mind and it'll freak you out). I wonder if Will's got a dark secret (besides the obvious non-dark non-secret).

“There are no more barriers to cross all I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. my pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone, infact I want my pain to be inflicted on others I want no one to escape, but even after admitting this there is no catharsis my punishment continuos to allude me and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself no new knowledge can be extracted from my telling, This Confession Has Meant Nothing.”

PS. For those that are concerned about copyright issues, this is called “fair use”. It is both editorial context and to a lesser extent parody. Plus both of the above images are promotional images provided by the studios. So no need to report me for TOS violations.

Do ya like Ted Nugent?

So I'm getting the truck all ready for winter since the snow is starting to come down. I took it for some hard rides over the fields — the truck seems OK but my ass sure got quite the pounding. For some reason it doesn't want to shift in 4L, but with some fiddling (OK, I just forgot to lock the front hubs) it's shifting into 4H fine. Three of the front lights (the offroad ones; the others work fine) aren't firing up so I'll have to see if they're getting power or not. I haven't tried the winch yet, but I found the remote for it so I'll check it tomorrow morning, and I also have to pick up a hook for it (dunno where mine went, it's just a coil loop right now)… Let's see… I have a top waiting for me in Toronto so I'll pick that up next week, and then I'd say it's winter ready.

In any case, driving it in the fields was fun… Went over some four foot (at least) gulleys without any problem at all, drove through a swamp, and so on… I wanted to drive through the corn fields (as in through the middle) but apparently they're still going to be harvested as silage. There's a bit of a squeak in the steering now, but I think it's nothing. I always think I'm going to wreck the truck any time I take it over anything, but it's pretty solidly built. Worst case I wreck a bearing…

Reboot! Reboot!

You know how when something unexpected happens on your computer and it gets all messed up and acts “wrong” until you reboot it? Well, I think it just happened to Leeta!

I had gone for a drive down the lane (along the edge of Rob's cornfields), and when I came back I was driving pretty fast because it's always fun when the tires are muddy. Because I'm running 44″ Boggers, it literally throws mud twenty feet or more into the air, plus there were some corn stalks on the front of the truck.

Anyway, Leeta was taking a crap in the middle of the driveway (thanks a lot) and when she saw me coming, she stopped, and instead of moving out of the way, she went into a spin — sort of like how some dogs do when they're chasing their tails… Or maybe like Homer Simpson when he walks/lies on the floor in a circle saying “woo woo woo woo”? Anyway, she didn't stop.

She literally kept doing it the whole time I was parking the truck and didn't stop until I came over and petted her and told her “it's ok”. Then she ran into the house and is now hiding in her crate (her safe zone)… I know I shouldn't think it was funny, but now I know what she does when totally unexpected input is thrown her way.

So you want your 15 minutes…

Here are a few television requests I've gotten lately. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact them. I can't vouch (or un-vouch) for any of them, so make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.

Subject: TV Series looking for Subjects
From: Chris Williamson <chris.williamson@innercityfilms.ca>

Hi,

I just started working for a Gemini award-winning tv series called "Skin Deep" that explores the personal and social reasons people choose featured have been mainstream, including breast augments, liposuctions, tummy tucks, face lifts, etc. Since I am personally involved in the body modification scene I would like to make a case to the network to feature some alternative perspectives on beauty and modification practices. We were able to make a case for tattooing and brandings, now I would like to take it one step farther.

Would you be willing to pass on the word that we are looking for Torontonians and people living within an hour or so of the GTA who are interested in modifying their bodies (subincisions, corsetry, corset peircings, etc.) and telling their stories on camera?

Honorariums will be paid for the candidates stories and time.

With much thanks,

Phia

Subject: Extreme Surgery
From: "Berendsen, Anouk" <Anouk.Berendsen@granadamedia.com>

My name is Rachel Bloomfield and I am a producer/director for Granada Television in London. I'm currently making a documentary for the ITV network looking at extreme cosmetic surgery and am trying to find people who have had extreme surgery and surgeons who perform extreme surgery. I am particularly interested in people who want to look like animals. I wondered if you could help me with this?

Many thanks

Rachel Bloomfield

Subject: VH1 Special
From: "Thomas, Scott" <Scott.Thomas@vh1staff.com>

Dear BME,

I'm currently researching a one-hour special for VH1. The main theme is, of course, tattoos and body art, but we're specifically looking for stories that go against the usual tat stereotype. We're looking for incredible stories about the journeys (both physical and/or emotional) that people make, with the result being the tattoo.

I was wondering if you could post our info and our e-mail address on your website. This info is up on the VH1 website right now, but we could reach a much larger audience with your help. Here's the blurb to be posted:

"VH1 is looking for your tattoo tales for a new one-hour special. We want to hear about your life-changing journeys-past, present and future-which end with you in a tattoo artist's chair. Hilarious, heart-warming or just plain bizarre-the stories we're seeking should be unique personal odysseys that shed knew light on a culture commonly associated with bikers, rock stars and sailors on shore leave.

You've got that tattoo for the rest of your life. E-mail us at tattoo@vh1staff.com and tell us why."

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail.

Sincerely,

Scott Thomas

Slacking

OK, I've got to get to real work now… Fixing a couple old bugs in iam.alive, and then figuring out what my options are on the adult avatar issue. I want to re-run a series of slogan shirts, I just have to come up with some good ones that haven't already been used. Oh, and I just checked UPS tracking and the scrapbook files I think are in the truck and will be delivered shortly.
