I'm watching the episode where Dr. Bashir is tricked into doing undercover work for Sector 31… They made a few comments that I thought were very relevant:
- Can you commit unethical acts to protect your national interests, even if it means sending young men to die to protect the ethical codes you are breaking?
- In regards to the above, they used the well known quote from Cicero — “inter arma silent leges” (in time of war, the law is silent).
- They regularly address the issue of terrorist action as a legitimate form of war.
- Does anyone else think that Romulan ale is the marijuana of Star Fleet?
…and for those that speak a little Latin, remember another quote from Cicero:

This is all over the news internationally, but I figured it couldn't hurt to mention again since I'm sure that today US news will be flooded with the official lies… There's been a lot of comparison with 9/11's “day of infamy” with Pearl Harbor in 1941. Problem is, thanks to recently unclassified US military documents, the public story of Pearl Harbor is pretty much a fabrication. Yes, of course the attack happened, but it was provoked and it was not a surprise attack. For those inclined to learn history and not propaganda, here are some starter links:

When BMEshop puts an item up for sale, we either draw a picture (like we do for shirts), or take photos of the actual items (like we do for jewelry). Strangely enough, not all companies do this. I was browsing through alphasylum's page (because there were just some complaints filed about their customer service on RAB), and clicked on their plugs.
I saw a picture of some sparkle plugs that didn't look quite right… almost like an optical illusion. I don't have a good explanation as to why — maybe it's crooked jewelry, maybe they doctored the photo, or maybe it's just in my head — but here's what I found:
