While I was at TransVision I mentioned the story of the London street execution in which a Brasilian was literally murdered by the police. I'd been called a conspiracy nut for suggesting that police weren't justified, but now it's been revealed that I told the story quite wrong — not only was he not wearing anything “unusual” (just a jean jacket), he had no electrical gear on him, and he hadn't jumped the turnstile (he used his card). In addition, he wasn't even being chased — just tailed by an unarmed surveillance team, who “got the vibe” that he was a suicide bomber and called in an armed team, who jumped the turnstiles, and killed him on the spot.
The theory is that if he'd been a suicide bomber, any attempt to question him could have been met with detonation, so the policy is simply to kill, then investigate. Sir Ian Blair, the police commissioner says that he's not sure if this is the “right tactic, but it is the best we have found so far.” Oh, and it turns out that every CCTV camera that recorded the incident and the events leading up to it that day were mysteriously broken and provided no footage. Yeah, ok. Keep on killin'.
Fuck all governments and raise a fist
Now I'd like to play connect the dots on another issue.
Insert 9/11 conspiracy below:
The core of the ruling Republicans (about eight of them) are deeply invested in oil and defense transnational corporations. Because of this, they have profited massively from the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks (everything from domestic policing and intelligence, the wars on Afghanistan and Iraq, and the upheaval in the energy market). Just an unfortunate but lucky coincidence?
Mohamed Atta al Sayed is named as the pilot of the first of the two planes in the WTA strike. Not long after moving to the US he was under surveillance by the Department of Defense who believed he was conspiring to launch domestic attacks on the US. However, they were instructed by top officials at the DoD to actively hide Atta's identity from the FBI:
"We were directed to take those 3M yellow stickers and place them over the faces of Atta and the other terrorists and pretend they didn't exist."
At the time, Atta was allegedly working for and spending time with Jack Abramoff on the SunCruz casino ship. Abramoff was just indicted for fraud and conspiracy. Republican Majority Leader Tom Delay (aka Mr. Corruption) describes Abramoff as one of his “closest, dearest friends”, and is one of the few people powerful enough to stop the Atta investigation.
Don't do the math!
Then the 9/11 attacks happened, with Atta flying the first plane.
Billions of dollars in profit for Cheney, Bush, DeLay, Abramoff, Roberts, and others followed. Dumb luck or involvement, the events we continue to watch unfold have made them some of the wealthiest people on the planet. Immediately after the 9/11 attacks,
Bush issued a total lockdown on intel which ensured that only those who — sure it's just a coincidence — were profiting from the attacks could be in the know, allowing them to “fix” intelligence in ways which worked first for their corporations.
Is it any wonder that Bush is taking a helicopter out of his ranch instead of a motorcade while he takes another month long vacation so he doesn't have to see the parents of children he has murdered for money? Hey FBI, better keep the fear up so Americans don't start asking questions. Maybe you can even find another couple nutcase terrorists, protect them from investigation and keep them from getting stopped, and have another attack happen. I hear it's a good investment.
