Just got back from doing laundry — while I was there I got a lot of work done on the new BMEshop software… I'm building it to be portable as well, so maybe I'll actually make it a product that I sell. I think it would be good for a lot of small businesses, especially those selling “unusual” items.
While I was out I also picked up some new CDs that I'm looking forward to listening to (and maybe using on upcoming videos as well) — some Ladytron, fuxa, Parsley Sound, American Analog Set, Rothko, Vincent Gallo, The Bees, and the reindeer section. I'm a little embarassed to admit it, but I'm totally nuts over that Ladytron album (604) right now.
I have been noticing something odd lately that I wanted to mention. It's been going on since I got this goofy new hairdo (the funny moooostache mostly, but the 18th century gunslinger hair as well). I'm getting hit on constantly (and not just by the sole target of my affections)! It's really weird… So many people that I've known casually for a long time are coming up to me and starting the conversation with “I don't know what it is, but there's something new about you — you're really looking good — you look really cute!”. It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode with the pigman.
George: I wish there were pigmen. You get a few of these pigmen walking around I'm looking a whole lot better. Then if somebody wants to fix me up at least they could say, "Hey he's no pig-man!"Jerry: Believe me, there'd be plenty of women going for the pig-men. No matter what the deformity you'll find some group of perverts attracted to it. "Oooo that little tail turns me on."
I can certainly confirm — as can many of you — that the odder (and funnier) one makes one's appearance, the more attractive one gets, at least to a subsector of the population… The animal kingdom confirms this as well by the way. This “instict to the odd” runs very deep and is absolutely primal.
PS. Bad picture, but you get the point.
