Edit Two: A lot of people have suggested Tumblr. Even if Tumblr is more “friendly”, I do not want to be under the thumb of a megacorporation that does not fundamentally care about its users as people. And I have no reason to believe that to be the case of ANY of the big sites. To be honest, the only sites I trust beyond ones I host myself are BME and BodyMod.org. For now I am posting to ModBlog.
Well, I’m banned from Facebook again. This time it’s for posting the following image (which ironically I didn’t even create — it’s a promotional image posted to the APTI Italian SusCon 2012 group — unofficially I am being told now). It was posted along with some commentary about the health and safety issues in suspension, and is obviously in no way a violation of “the rules”. I can only assume that since I’ve been speaking out against rebloggers, stolen content, and so on, that some people have a vendetta against me and are abusing the fact that Facebook’s automated “ban” system only requires you to be reported and the bots lock you down. It’s quite insane, and I am very ready to leave Facebook to blog elsewhere. As convenient as it is, it’s not worth facing this pain in the ass on a constant basis.
Edit: I want to comment too that this picture is not quite what it seems so please don’t judge the people in it harshly (and I don’t believe they had anything to do with my ban). I will explain that when I can post again on FB or elsewhere.
I am very seriously considering going back to post on ModBlog instead, as difficult as that would be on a personal level. I’ve reached out to Andrew Noyes again, who managed to un-ban me last time this happened “in error”, but honestly, even with his help, I’m not sure I want this stress. Better off using Facebook to maintain contacts, and just blog somewhere else I’m beginning to think.

MAKE A TUMBLR PLEASE
Blog on tumblr! There’s no restrictions to followers “friends” you can post as much as you want and there’s a large body mod info group on there along with a ridiculous amount of mod blogs. Also some attractive modified folks from all over the globe! =)
I for one would be thrilled if you started back at modblog. Pride is one thing, but you could make the world a better place by doing that.
There are so many people out there that you have changed the lives of for the better, not only because of BME and the body modification world.
I have been following you since I was about 12 years old and BME was at bme.freeq.com. I am now nearly 26 and you have had a very strong presence throughout over half of my life, especially for somebody that I don’t know personally.
You are such an inspiring person in everything that you do and whether or not you decide to start back up at modblog, there will always be people who are going to stand by your side. I have never even talked to you, but your words have inspired me more than anyone else has. That is so powerful.

You could set up a tumblr for sharing mod content. They have very permissive terms of service as far as content goes, as long as anything NSFW is properly flagged.

Mitch– I won’t hide the fact that what you’re saying was the toughest part of my decision, and you and I are not the only one with that sentiment fresh on our mind. But the reality is that I am not going to be around much longer, and I have to think about what’s best for my daughter. If I had many more years to live, I would perhaps start my own site. But any action I take that hurts BME, ultimately hurts my daughter, and I can not do that. I don’t have the luxury of acting only in the way that makes me emotionally content unfortunately.

I second Dana’s comment, as a long time follower, (starting at ModBlog and then coming here when I realised “something was up”), sometimes I forget that I actually *don’t* personally know you. You are one of the few living artists who have had a real impact on my life, and I know, a much greater impact on the lives of others.
As a boring ol’ “plainskin” I want to tell you that I’m no less interested in what the willing and committed mod community have to show the world. Subscribing to your feed on FB was great and had me there more often than usual. I gnash my teeth at the idiocy of the “one click and you’re out” policy.
As much as the return to ModBlog must chafe, I thank you for sharing your vast and ever-increasing collection of amazing and inspiring pictures and stories. I haven’t clicked on BME for so long I’ll have to replace it in my bookmarks (when once I was there daily).
Body modification is fascinating on sociological, artistic and aesthetic levels and your name will always be associated with the best it has to offer. Once again, thank you for spending the time to post and share this great artform with the world.
I think a lot of people could benefit from you posting to Modblog, and as much as I’d like to see you have your own site in parallel to BME, I understand your concerns with your health and family too. Your articles on BME have also been well written without personal jabs at your ex mixed in or hostility. As much as I’d like to support your endeavor on FB, I refuse to have a FB account due to personal issues with their privacy control and company. Tumblr would be good although I’m rarely there myself. Fetlife would be nice too although it’s a broader spectrum of folks. I hope you find a ‘home’ for your ‘work’ soon where you have the freedom to post.

I just wanted to drop a quick note about how happy I am that you’re back on modblog, they try but so far they have been unable to equal your level of content quality!
No such thing as a quick note though, as reading this reminded me of what you went through back then. Finding me unable to really start typing at that quick note. Seeing you reappear on modblog, I hoped that things had evolved since then and that this was a positive thing rather than a very loaded personal decision. Im sorry to hear that.
