I made some new soap molds today, taking casts in silicone off some real and replica skulls I have here. I quickly cast some goat’s milk soap in them, scented with a mix of ylang-ylang, patchouli, frankincense, salvia sclarea (ie. clary, not the psychedelic drug), orange, and thyme (Caitlin’s favorite combination) and tinted with a tiny bit of black mica (other than the white one, which is just the soap base). These are the very first soaps cast from these molds and I haven’t taken any time to clean them up or correct imperfections. Here you go:
You can continue after the break for close up pictures of everything.
This one is a cast of a puppy’s skull.
And this one is a cat’s skull (a cat with minor tooth disease, as a point of trivia).
This little one, which was pretty hard to get a decent photo of, is the skull of a slow lori.
This is a twenty-something week old human fetal skull. It’s a little big for soap I suppose. I will most likely take another cast of this to make a candle mold (and may do the same for others but I haven’t decided yet). I have another human skull that I made a mold of today, a teenage Asian female, but I haven’t made anything with it yet so I don’t have a picture of that.
Finally, this is the scale model skull with my tattoo on it that a friend of Blair’s made for me.

any progress on an etsy shop? I’d love some small animal skull soaps for my bathroom (w/ apologies to my fiancee…)
Those are looking great!
Love your skull soaps and candles, they’re turning out better and better. As an aside, I saw this on The Awesomer today and thought of you.

Are you going to be able to use any of these for candle molds? They look great!
Ha, just looked at all the pictures and saw they may be candle molds as well. Hooray!
You are so creative!!!
Awesomeness!
Those look extremely awesome, i wish i had time to let my creative funk flow.
I dont know what is more disturbing…wondering how you got a 20 week old human skull or wanting one of the large asian teenagers that is now soap, that would be awesome to have rolling around in the tub!!!! HA!!! Great work!
If there’s any chance you end up making a candle mold out of the replica skull with your tattoo design on it, do please put it in the etsy shop…
Oh I would so love to buy the tattooed skull!~
