I’m sure it’s not the worst ever, but really, this is as bad as I need to see. Somehow after reading how CBS got sued over tricking a guy into having his penis surgery publicly broadcast and wondering what exactly his cock deformity was (turned out to be something that, from looking at thousands of penises over my publishing lifetime, I know is very common and rarely worth stressing over) I got into reading Wikipedia’s list of cutaneous conditions — a real horrorshow list — and came across a picture of the worst keloid ever. I’m not going to include the full size picture in the entry because I don’t want to lose the few regular readers I have left, but click if you dare.

Well, Shannon, as a regular visitor here I must tell you, that personally, I found the “black hairy tongue” in the Wiki far worse than the “worst keloid ever” – and that I have never left Wikipedia as speedy before.
That said, you ain’t gonna get rid of your regulars that way :)
I was actually preparing for the worst when I clicked the pic it was taking a while to open so I did something else, then clicked back…jesus that is severe and I dunno I gotta disagree with Janet, I think its worse than hairy tongue.
I clicked the wiki link an was going through the list like you shannon..and I had to chuckle at some of the names they give things, such as hairy tongue and kinky hair..
hooooww did that happen? Poor guy
I am a regular reader as well and quite honestly there is not an image you could post that would scare me away. ;)
That thing is massive.. I’m wondering what caused it?
Very fashionable.
I thought it might be shaving related at first but that doesn’t explain the ears…
You ain’t gettin’ rid of me with no stinkin’ keloid thats for sure!
Keep it up! :)
the most horrorshow pictures i have ever seen were on a book about tropical cutaneous diseases. the sad thing about it was that most of them were easely treated (i.e. scabs), but got to a terrible state cause the pacients usually live on isolated regions with poor medical treatment.
I am so glad I am a /b/tard or else that picture would have made me very hand-flappingly upset.
You won’t lose me as a regular reader, eiher but I simply did not click on them links and I’m not going to! :P
I agree with most people here, links like that one will actually increase visits
It’s only my personal opinion, but don’t know you most of your readers from the BME days?
So most readers should be accustomed to keloids or heavier stuff =)
I wasn’t the least bit disturbed in some of those links. Although the wiki made me grimace a tad.
I read the last bit of this post “…I don’t want to lose the few regular readers I have left…” and decided it was about time I thank you for keeping your blog going all of these years. I’ve been reading on and off for about five years, and sincerely appreciate this small window into your life. I’ve taken away a lot concerning your wonderful approach to parenting, dealing with chronic illness, cooking and technology experiments (and duh, body modification). It gives me inspiration in multiple aspects of my life, and I thought you should know. All the best, and keep it up – Laura
I echo Laura. =)
I’m also really curious as to what caused that! It didn’t put me off at all, but it does look uncomfortable for the poor dude. :/
I have to say, the most ‘icky’ Wiki I have ever run across is the gangrene and gas gangrene pictures. Those gave me a shiver…
Wow….that was a bad shave day
