Had what appears to be a transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke). Extremely unpleasant. Ambulence+hospital yesterday, more tests later this week. Feel 80% better today.

Gllad you’re home and feeling better. Hope its nothing serious.
Howd you know you had a mini-stroke???
I seized a week ago Sat and aside from pissing myself and having Marc here- I dont think I would have realized it was a full on seizure and not just passing out.
Refuah shlema. Get well soon dude. Look after yerself.
Hope you are on your way to a quick recovery
Hope you have a swift recovery!
You’re too young to have TIA, Shannon, unless you have some blood disorder causing thrombophilia, or other metabolic disorder. In my humble opinion (I’m a neurologist) you should be assessed a lot more profoundly, than just undergo routine CT scan. Best of luck to you anyway…
glad you are feeling better already.
maybe you should keep some of those patches in your vehicle, in case the cops pull you over again…
..’see what youve doen to me!!’
My mom had one of those when I was little. Hasn’t had one in the 20 years since, so at least there’s not necessarily a risk of future episodes. Hope you feel better soon!
hammerhead – I was very happy with the EMS staff, but yeah, I’ve been less than thrilled with both the hospital and the follow up doctor visit…
WTF?!
<3
Best wishes Shannon…it’s far too soon to lose you!
Best wishes Shannon! I totally sympathize with random health issues and improper or lacking assessment. I’m lucky it hasn’t been nearly as serious as yours appear to be. Nonetheless, “I guess you have a mild non-specific auto-immune issue” wasn’t exactly a reassuring diagnosis after a year and a half of not being able to get out of bed for weeks at a time, which jeopardized not only my degree but my and my husband’s visas. I’m glad that the EMS team was on it but I hope you can get all the in-depth followup care you need and that you don’t have any further episodes. I can’t imagine how scary that must have been.
I hope your ok, just read the post. Take it easy my friend and I’m sure the doctors will get to the bottom of whats wrong. Nice part about being Canadian is that you don’t go broke trying to get healthy.
get well! ^^
Hope you’re doing okay and that the scans were negative. Take care of yourself, TIAs, are no joke!
