Nefarious is visiting a friend so Caitlin and I took this opportunity to make a big dent in painting her room. She’s got an immense loft in the new studio, and we’ve painted the walls blue with a lower landscape of green, to fit the stick-on dinosaurs and aliens that Jon gave her for Christmas. It was a little scary at the top of the ladder! It’s going to be a really fun room when we’re all done. The first five photos below are her new room, and in the sixth you can see it from the ground story. The last three photos in order are the big seamless room (where I’ll build the submarine and other projects), our new living room, and our kitchen and above it the master bedroom… It’s a huge space and these photos only show about half of it. Can’t wait to get moved in!

So nice, I wish there was something like that in Edmonton.
so beautiful!
that is going to be an amazing room for Ari not to mention an amazing place to live..Lucky all of you :)
Wait til we install a swing downstairs. Then it’ll be fun! And Anika can come for a sleep over…
congrats on the new awesome apartment!
I am dreaming of barbecued food daily. I’ve missed that!
Looks like Ari will have TONS of room to run around! That looks really awesome. I was at Ikea today and they had some awesome green leaf decorations that would go really well with what you are doing in her room.
Wow that space is huge! Can’t wait to see the finished project.
How are you guys gonna heat the loft?
I am SO jealous! I have always wanted to live in a loft but the rent for them in Ann Arbor is WAY too pricey.
E-the loft’s really warm and cozy, there are hot water pipes all over and radiators. It’s cooling it that’s a concern, August in Toronto is brutal!
WOAH!!!!!!!
The place looks awesome, I LOVE IT!
lucky, lucky. You guys must be stoked to move in. You need a house warming/engagement shower party!
Music, alcohol, food, friends, gifts, swings.. seriously.
Nice La Maudite shirt! Great beer!
You’ve got a really nice place to live in now! Can’t wait to look at your new projects…
Congrats on the new place.
that room looks like it will be awesome!
Ari is lucky to have folks like you(s)
wow!
Congrats on the loft- and Kudos to painting the place. BTW- to keep from being scared on the ladder, why not do a suspension while on it ;) hehehehe :)
Looks like a great space. If you ever need a babysitter for Ari.. :p
However, it reminds me of when I was around her age and my parents did a mural on my wall. By the time I was 16 or so I had really outgrown it and when it was painted over I felt extremely, extremely guilty.
Blackasher: we actually considered that. Ari’s only 5 (well, almost 6) and the mural isn’t overly involved, so if she did decide she hated it…hopefully that’s not for a long time. And by that point she will be old enough to wield a paint roller herself. I’m just grateful that the stickers she was given for Christmas weren’t Disney Princess, that would have been a certain recipe for short term disaster.
