I’ve found the conversations I’ve posted at Blog of Pain have been quite helpful. When you experience something in a vacuum, it’s subjectively quite extreme, but when you talk to others about their own experiences, it puts your own life into a context where you can see things a little more objectively. im curious, have the folks on the pain blog (or anywhere else) done a ‘poll’ on which individuals would prefer, if they had the choice:
Physical Pain (pain derived from the body) VS. mental/ emotional pain?
i would certainly choose the latter.
I would choose the former.
even when subjected to intense pain I gain solace from the knowledge that the pain is only physical, therefore my mind may overcome it or preoccupy me.
crap, i indicated the wrong one.
i meant to say i would choose the physical over emotional.
