Driving across the city, putting up with the terrible drivers that can’t handle a little snow, really makes me wish I wasn’t here in a metropolis… I don’t know if I’d rather be traveling by snowmobile or by sailboat, but as much as I love my life and its many privileges, I wish I could leave the city. Hopefully my father — check out (and get involved — it’s a multi-user site) his project at castlehom.com — gets his sailboat out of US waters so Caitlin and Nefarious and I can go visit him for a while.
And yeah, I’ve had this happen to me — hit by the boom — but only in a little 16′ boat.

haha, you should move to breckenridge, where we deal with texans who rent the biggest suv they can and still cant handle the snow
My parents were sailors so I grew up around sailboats, so I have definitely tasted the boom quite a few times
I know 2 people who have been killed with the boom
well, he stayed on the boat, so he had a much better chance of survival than the other option…
sailing on a VO70 is a good way to get killed without the best of skills.
yes skip – and if we allow the boom the boat to become metaphor – how does it go – the boom knocks you into the sea – then the undertoad holds you down till you drown –
take a look at “two weeks dodging the boom” at castlehom
last nite we had our first mutiny – in other words – the story really is never ending -
the world really does seem to be mostly good people with the occassional nasty piece of work
i saw this movie and thought it might be something you would be interested in.
