I’ve been putting together a fun little project for people who are looking to do some body modification Christmas shopping, a 2009 weekly calendar book with about sixty of my favorite photos from the now defunct BodyTwo blog back when I wrote it “in exile”. Among other things, the calender lists “important dates in body modification history” like birthdays of body modification figures, anniversaries of important events, and so on.
Help is appreciated!
If you can think of a date, please either post it here in the comments or drop me an email about it (knowing the date would be helpful, but ideas without the matching date are appreciated). I think Lyle Tuttle actually wrote a book on this subject, but I haven’t seen it… perhaps someone who has will get ideas from that as well and suggest some. Thanks!
If you’re wondering about May 20th by the way, that’s Steve Haworth‘s birthday.

Seeing as I just got myself a running log for the next year, I think I’ll treat myself with your calendar, too!
So far I have got a dozen and a half or so birthdays (and a few deaths), one or two dozen pieces of historical trivia, and then all the major 2009 conventions as well…
You should add in the dates for the IWASCURED events, if anyone was sober enough to remember the dates. I’ve only seen the photos but some should work well for the calendar
such a great idea!
Feb 12, 1997. As near as I can determine, this is the launch date for the Eunuch Archive. It may not be major in the grand scheme of the world of Body Modification, but it’s important to me. Oh, and October 27, 2004. The day Bboy (the founder of the EA) passed away.
Shannon’s Birthday should definitely be on there :)
And Canada Day 01 – while it entails “the other site” – the get together we had at that time – I believe was the very first that a significant amount of people came to from different areas. (I know that previous years (maybe for ney yrs) there were get togethers, but I think those had only local attendees). I know that the one in 01 was a life changing one for me – I got to meet a lot of nice friends :) (jeepers – I’m gettin all sentimental)
October 4th, 1989 RE/Search’s Modern Primitives is published coming after the highly acclaimed Industrial Culture Handbook introducing book stores to bifurcated penises.
