Decadent

I forgot how much I like potato gnocchi. Nefarious got it in her head that we should have skewers today, and seeing that large shrimp was on sale we picked up a bag. I grilled the shrimp in sesame oil and garlic with a lemon and spicy black bean marinade, and did gnocchi and broccoli in the same. Crazy delicious. For desert we made a DIY double chocolate and butterscotch lava cake with whipped cream and sugar sprinkles. Also crazy delicious.

Then Frog and Toad, Babar, and another chapter of her latest fairy novel…

lol, I just had potato gnocchi tonight at a local restaurant in the town where I am working for the next few days. I’ve never heard of it before and now I’ve came across it twice in one evening. Mine wasn’t bad but they kinda went overboard with the basil.

    Babar rocks!

Also, on the shrimp- my favorite recipe is shrimp and lemons grilled on skewers, then salt, pepper and lemon and orange juice squeezed over the top every time you turn them. If you toss some asparagus on the grill and give it the same salt/pepper/orange treatment, you have an amazing meal in, basically, grill time.

What’s lava cake? Sounds amazing. I made strawberries with lemon juice and sugar last night after reading one of your earlier posts. I was surprised how much it brought of the flavor and the sweetness. I also added some hand whipped cream, which was decadently simplistic.

I enjoy cooking, but I’m really not THAT good or creative a cook… I just like food.

Lava cake is a dessert that looks like a small cake on the outside, but has warm liquid chocolate, or sometimes cherry syrup on the inside. It’s liquidy because you don’t cook it all the way though. I’ve only ever had it at restaurants.

Wow Shannon, that's really annoying! What is it, 1997 on Geocities? Retroweb is NOT cool!
