Frog Hunting

Also in today’s park adventures, Nefarious caught three frogs (two full size ones and a little guy), each of which peed all over her hands. We walked through the forest and checked out all the puff balls and
mushrooms as well. It’s been a nice few days — school has started again, and since the pool at my building closed (summers only unfortunately until I get a membership at the pool across the street) we’ve been doing other things like rock climbing.

In “work” news, I’m quite happy with the layout on the re-release of the ModCon book, and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my hardcover copy, and I’ve got about 40 of the interviews for the new books in at least rough completed form, with about 60 more ongoing.

The first two are definitely toads. You can tell by their bumpy skin. I’m not sure about the third. :)

Yes, the third one is a toad as well… but toads are a kind of frog, so we’re both right…

Sounds like great fun indeed. The few frogs I caught when I was a child all peed on my hands too. I can’t blame them, must’ve been terrifying. :)

  5. The world needs more children that are willing to pick up frogs, hold snakes and hunt salamanders. Spending time outdoors stimulates the mind. I consider myself lucky that my daughters have pet snails and snakes, that they stop to watch a hummingbird feed, and they tell me how many deer and turkeys they’ve seen today.
The other day my youngest spotted a Barred Owl perched in a tree close to the house. This awareness will hopefully lead to good stewardship and respect for the environment

What is it about the frog that is so simply wonderful? I dont get it. Both times that hurricanes have brushed us the boys had the delight of having a tree frog, a tiny one at that, climb on their window. The last time it happened they called me to see and in my excitement and desire to see closer, closer, I scared him. It’s a frequent occurance, to be certain. :) But they are just SO irresistable. Great, happy pics of a great, happy life. :)

Wow Shannon, that's really annoying! What is it, 1997 on Geocities? Retroweb is NOT cool!
