Nefarious wanted to enter this month’s photo contest in chickaDEE so we went down to High Park where last time we’d been we saw a pair of extremely tame herons — we actually watched on catch a fish in front of us, from maybe five feet away. Anyway, all of these pictures were taken by her. She had a lot of fun sneaking up to get as close as she could for the photos, and then snapping wildly as they flew away.

Your daughter is quite the photographer! The middle one on top, and the first one in middle are stunning!
These photos are beautiful! They have a dreamlike quality about them. Herons are so wonderful. What a treat to get to watch a pair like this.
There are herons in the river and in the swamp near the hiking trails I frequent here in Connecticut. I can never get a good look at them let alone a picture, they are extremely skittish and fly away if you get within 100 feet or so.
I really like the 2nd one in the top row!
Great photos Nefarious!
