The order page is up now, but don’t order it yet unless you want to play dangerously. I’ve just ordered a copy for myself, and when it gets here I’ll post pictures to show the quality. This is a softcover version. Doing a hardcover version will require reformatting because the paper size is a little different, but I was able to upload the original PDF as is, so I figured I might as well not delay.

Is this the second Modcon book??? I have an old one which is all pictures with a VideoCd and is numbered and signed by you. It has a copyright (on the CD) of 2000. I thought I had the modcon book until I saw the pictures you put up which confused me.
Perhaps you could give us a brief history of the books or combine the different ones into a single volume.
Will
Shannon, did you have anything to do with the film Modify?
Will – The book you have is the rarest one of all, and the first book I published. 500 copies of that book were made. It has photos from ModCon I and II, as well as videos. The photos from that book are mostly in this book, so this book is the material from all three of the first Modcons.
Sorry for not being more clear…
Jordan – No, but I did enjoy it, and most of the people in the book were part of the BME community as well so there’s a lot of overlap.
I have that first ModCon book with video cd as well. I missed this one when it first came around. If you go with the hardcover, do you have a set price?
I think that the price of binding it in hardcover is $10-$12 more at lulu.com. But the size is 8.25×10.5 rather than 8.5×11 so the layout would have to be redone.
sweeeeeeeet
I have a copy in very good condition of the first run, that I am willing to sell, if anyone wants a historical copy rather than the reprint from lulu.

Shannon, will you be making future print on demand texts available in both hardcover and softcover versions?
Yes… I’m leaning toward the 6×9 trade size which can be done in both color and b&w. It’s actually the same price as 8.5×11, but I prefer the form factor — there’s something about letter size that feels “cheap” or “insincere”.
The b&w photo printing looks pretty crappy in comparison, but the price is a fraction (so it would be something like $50 for color, but only $15 for b&w to guess).
Progress is coming along very well.
