I did lots more interviewing and writing today. Due to the sheer volume of material that I have right now, I think that my plan now is going to be at least four books, in the following order:
- A literal reprint of the ModCon book (exactly as it was in the first edition)… In theory I could get this put up in a week or two. Some of the material in the book will be reused in the subsequent two, but they’re mostly new.
- A book about male genital modification. I’m aiming for about two months on this one.
- A more general book on body modification with more of a pop-culture focus. I’m aiming for six months on this one.
- A book about the history of modern body modification and my story with BME. There may be legal reasons why this can’t be published for now but I can at least get it written.
Other than that, whole wheat pizza dough.

That pizza looks yummy….. Mind if I add some broccoli and black olives tho? ;)
i remember you talking about the concept of BME before it was ever a reality. i would love to read the story of how that project unfolded. i get the legal reasons that might stop that project in its tracks, but i really hope you are able to get it published via some legal loopholes.
I definitely agree. It should be published. It’s time the system cut you a break.
print em all, let god sort it out ;)
really looking forward to getting my hands on all of them books. i have always wanted to read/learn about the story behind BME.
that pizza does look really good
wow!!!!!!!!I can’t see the hour to getting my hands on all of them books too!!!!!!!!
Book 4 is long overdue and sorely needed. Please do it. If you don’t write it, it’s one of my projects for the future.
Mmm… Tasty. Is your oven gas or electric? :D
I miss pizza and all other gluten laden food products. :(
All four books sound great.
Those books sound great Shannon!
im really glad to hear you are pushing forward to publish more BodyMod related work, even if it isn’t online.
i really want books 1 & 4, probably 2 & 3 also, after i look them over. im not a heavy mod person, but a comprehensive book on male genital modification sounds like something id want to have in my collection. The 2nd could be an excellent book to show friends or have available to the public at a tattoo shop. Well written/photographed, professionally published books really so impart a sense of validity & respect to out industry & our arts. ive known people who looked upon tattoo, piercing, etc with a little disdain until they were shown a beautiful, bound volume (like 100 demons, or Skin Art) at which point their minds open and attitudes change.
The last one is very interesting to me, not just for the obvious (& legally imPEEded) reasons, but because ive aways thought a complete history of BME should be written. ive tended to be an outside observer into BME, which makes me even more interested in how it came to be, what the original concepts were & how it may have evolved in the process. i REALLY hope you can produce this volume unfettered & uncensored.
Good luck, keep kicking ass & thank you so much.
PS: Nefarious should get the role as the little zombie girl from the original Night of the Living Dead, if Romero ever brought that character back in a future project! creeeepy…
wow, that’s quick!
I’m def. interested in books 3 and 4 and kind of think I’ll go for #2 as well.
sounds exciting! there’s so many books on the subject out there and yet almost all of them are just a bunch of pictures with not so good contents.
Have someone else write and print the 4th book. Like an unauthorized biography.
lovely pizza :D
