I wasn’t expecting too much of a challenge on “hard”, and beat it on the first try without having to redo any songs… That said, I think it is harder than the rest of the series so far, and I figure it’ll take a few tries to get through “expert”… One thing I noticed playing it though, and I’m surprised I never noticed this before, is how disconcertingly similar the opening to Mercury Rev’s “Opus 40” is to Mott the Hoople’s “All The Young Dudes“…! If I wasn’t paying attention, I could almost get them mixed up in the intro.

Ugh!
Matthew has beat expert on the Aerosmith version. I was excited when they picked it up upon release thinking I wouldn’t have to endure much more of GH3 or rockband but honestly, after a while.. it all sounds about the same and all Im able to concentrate on is the strumming on the key.
Limiting play time does not ease the sound of strumming with 4 boys in the house either- Especially when friends are over!
Another wonderful thing about GH and RB is the boys have decided to start a garage band of their own. It’s amazing to see them write their own songs etc but waking to 1 acustic, 1 electric and a mic blaring on high through an amp at 6am SUCKS! They are hoping to save for a drum kit but I’m taxing them on lost sleep hours.
