You know, I’m pretty tired and admittedly burning the candle at both ends, my car got stolen, I haven’t gotten a pay check in over six months and I got an “insufficient funds” when buying groceries today — “trouble, oh trouble move away” — but the amazing thing is that a bike ride to the park still always makes me feel much, much better!
That said, riding Caitlin’s bike is a little uncomfortable, so I’m thinking of making my own bike (alright, Caitlin will have to do most of the work because she’s the welder here)… I was looking at the various plans on Atomic Zombie and they looked pretty fun. When I can scrounge together a few bucks for pieces I think that’ll be high on my to-do list.

Im not sure why the bike is uncomfortable for you, but the first thing that comes to mind is the seat, and how certain parts don’t sit too well on a lady’s bike seat.
It would be nifty is you made a fold up bike with a fold up cargo holder. I imagine that would be a nifty prototype and would catch on with people that have small apartments (and are looking to get around without breaking their wallet on petrol).
(I know that if I had a fold up bike that would fit in my mini apartment, I’d use it to go back and forth to the store and whatnot — it would definitely be worthwhile in many ways.)

It might be a good idea to go into a bike shop & get fitted for a frame, so you have all the proper measurements for when you begin to build your own bike. Heh, what’s a non-pervy way to say “Size matters!”?

I’m just jealous you have nice enough weather to go bike riding. We got dumped on yesterday by a blizzard. I’ll be looking at snow for at least another week.
