I sketched out the plan for Tikikaiju – Godzilla having just finished a large tiki version of himself in the jungle, as the snakes look on approvingly. It’s being painted on a quite large 48″ x 60″ canvas. It is being painted for sale, so the final piece will be a little larger since it’ll also have a custom frame.

Nice work Shannon and nice photo. Did you leave the red eye in on purpose? I also went to work today and worked on my drawing. I have never been able to produce on a canvas that big. Bless you. I like this blog much better than your other one. Its nicer. You should tell us about your art training, whether or not you were self taught, schooled or both.
Speaking of your eye… how is the blue tattoo?
WOW! Thats a huge painting! Its going to look amazing with all the colors you tend to use! I cant wait to see it finished and wish i had the money to buy your work myself. Maybe oneday, or if you start selling prints. :)
Do you make your own canvases? I have a hard time finding them in large sizes.
Miss Pixie Styx – Highschool art classes, a few as a kid, and mostly drawing. I had a fine arts scholarship to York University but dropped out after a year and never really went to class. So on the whole, self taught.
Gayle – I buy them at Woolfits here in Toronto. It’s way cheaper than making them myself — this was something like $25-$30.
Keppy – I’m just waiting for photos of Josh’s and then I’ll post and update.
Why did you drop out? Do you use Wet Canvas or Deviant Art? They are great sites.
That’s incredible! Your artwork is amazing.
Ehehe Shannon, good work!
And awesome sidebrows as well!
Shannon, as always amazing work.
what I wouldn’t give to even have one of your “railroad snake” paintings. Your work always makes me smile.
You do inspire me. I am finally going to do my mural on the bedroom wall. Hope to have it done by christmas.
Take care buddy. russell Hill

I have that shirt! Okay, not a great comment but hey, I envy your drawing :).
I wanted to let you know you are an inspiration to me as an artist, and a single parent. I hope you can make it even farther as an artist.
That drawing looks Excellent! I cannt wait to see it completed with paint:)
Catch ya later
It’s going to be a good few years till we’ve got money above simple subsistence level. When I’m rich, however (note optimism) I’m gonna fly to Canada and buy all those paintings. I REALLY like them.
wow, painting looks like is going to be awesome. even better is the facial hair combined with your tattoo pokeing out of your sleeve. you look like wolverine!
That is going to look killer with all of your bright colors on it. Keep up the good work man.
I’m mostly self-taught artist myself.
I took all art classes in high school.
I only went to art school for short time.
my favorite mediums in art are welding, sculptures and painting.
I like to paint metals after welded them together.
I did some painting on canvases too.
