So one of the “things I do” is mail people suspension hooks if they're in a country where it's not entirely clear to them where to get them (if I know them and they are contributors to BME, so please don't think I'm sending hooks to anyone, no questions asked). I send them in original packaging so they can then take that to local stores and easily source them cheaply and close-to-home afterwards.
Anyway, on Monday I sent a hundred hooks to a friend in Moscow. Those hooks weighed almost nothing; no more than a big hooded sweatshirt. Check out what it cost to mail them — $108 for a tiny box that weighed nothing and had a value of perhaps a tenth that. Ack! Well, it's a good cause, right?
