Talk about kicking someone while they’re down.

Your story about the doctor being strong-armed by the DEA to abuse his patients because of some totally unrelated and arguably fabricated “war on drugs” is all too common.

It’s like you are already sick yet you expect us to fight for disability, then after that you have to fight the doctors for care, then after that you’ve got to fight for what’s right for you, as far as treatment goes. It’s just sick. You’re right our society is moving backwards. All these conservatives fear scripts & medicinal marijuana while their policies force us to do the thing they fear the most seeking it illegally. I would much rather be able to take my meds that give me some quality of life than to continue to suffer needlessly. I once had a doctor that refused to give me pain meds that I was already receiving because the DEA had sent a letter that asked him to stop or decrease his RXs for it. Didn’t matter that I was already on opiates & was forced to go through an awful withdrawal until I was able to get another doctor. Crazy

Too slow/too fast, I tried to count the breaths but I’m too conscious of it now. The second part jarred me back, this type of lawmaking leaves me angered and mystified. Our world today spends too much time regulating for minor aberrations. I wish for more common sense, more compassion, more thought and consideration. A politician jumps to a perceived vote-making decision, may not even be re-elected, and we are stuck with the crazed schemes they leave behind. Too much media in politics and vice versa.

I blame conservatives.

i would be absolutely lost and permanently stuck in my bed without oxy, and shannon, you are absolutely right it only pushes people towards the drug blackmarket and “underworld”. i’m absolutely gobsmacked and beyond confused at the cruelty of the situation. :(
