A computer chess rating of 1500 means that were you to be compared to the average usa tournament player you are average but when compared to the rest of the human race – you is way good – as a tournament player is someone who but again on average has played a lot. A par golfer. That said – ignore the BS of the strength of play regards what you buy – - there are a lot of great chess games out there.

I think ChessMaster 10 (3 CDs) is the best for learning except that you have to find a “crack” so that it will play without having to leave a CD in the CD Drive.

Esp for your kids as they can play with characters at their level and win some.

But play the game with them.

My 2nd Son and I played a lot and he’s a natural as one of your kids might be.

If he has not play’d for a few years I might take him on the 1st few games but then it will be all over as he’s just a better player.

Does that make me stupid. I don’t think so.
