I just found what brought me to the “nostalgic” conclusion. It’s your shirt. Johnny Murphy and I drank piles of Maudite while in the great land of Canada. I believe we were fondest of the bottle with the naked Indians canoeing in the sky. And the one with Satan on the front, it was very tasty also.

Elizabeth, I was also going to suggest a cane upgrade! Last year, I modded my Lucite cane with sound-sensitive LEDs, using a single-transistor switch biased to come on at a pre-set level – but you could probably do something much niftier with a LM3915. It’s powered by a 9V ni-cad rechargeable battery in the handle, which is trickle-charged when the thing is powered by a 9V AC-DC adapter. It was a fun little project, and cool to have a cane I’m actually excited to carry in public – something other than an omnipresent reminder of the many ways in which my body fails me.
