Guu is fantastic Japanese tapas, but get there when they open. It gets busy.

I took a trip back a few years back with my family and we went to see our old neighborhood. We use to live on the base in Esquimalt, they have since shut the base down and the whole area was just so different.

Anyways, looking forward to hearing about your trip!

Have you considered using Adobe After Effects? It has many of the same filters as Photoshop and some different ones as well that you may enjoy.

Side notes: have you ever seen the drawing/animations of William Kentridge? Your animation reminded me of his work somewhat, at least in the mood.

Neat effects on the animation. The quirky walking reminds me of an animated short film I saw a while ago by Andreas Hykade. You can check out the video “Ring of Fire” on his website. Have a look, I think you’d like it! Cheers!

Often times in the upstairs they actually have someone carving on-site with the proper, old fashioned tools which is amazing to watch…

As far as eating is concerned, I recommend the Naam, my favorite restaurant of all time. And its 24 hours.

As far as restaurants, I would recommend The foundation on Main and 7th, go for dinner and order nachos to start. The shop that Cohen tattoos at is just two blocks up on Main and Broadway if you wanna stop in and say hi. For something a little more upscale, but not totally upscale, try Grub on Main and 20 something. They have a ever-changing menu, so read the chalkboard on the wall.
In terms of nature type stuff, if the weather is nice, come out to Deep Cove in North Vancouver, which is where Cohen and I live. There are lots of nice short hikes around the cove.
I hope you have fun here.

I downloaded that pencil app but not had a chance to look over the instructions yet, will have to spend some time with it to see if I can create anything interesting.

I live on the island, and stay as far away from the place as possible. To many pantless junkies, and delusional hookers for my liking… If the weather was nice enough, I’d recommend hitting up Tofino, or Sooke or something like that. Or hell, take a road trip up island and come see me in Union Bay! lol

As well, the Museum of Anthropology is wonderful, and the current exhibit (Borderzones) is fascinating. Add Nitobe Gardens to the second, and you’ve got a great day. Also, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is breathtaking and offers a treetop canopy walk among the giant trees in our rainforest. And there’s also the Aquarium, Granville Island, Science World and Grouse Mountain.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
