If you don’t mind saying, what were the results of this?
Also, for my last surgery they didn’t shave me either, it was my first surgery I wasn’t shaved for and surprised me.

Shaving actually increases the chances of post-operative infection, I imagine because of irritation of the skin and the risk of ingrown hairs and so on. I think they sometimes trim hair, but as far as I know they avoid shaving when possible.

They didn’t shave you down? That’s kinda weird. I thought they always shaved you before they cut you open.

Unfortunately, that looks much like a pressure ulcer I just packed yesterday at the hospital. Can you believe someone would let their “loved one” reach such a state?
