Yeah I see these on Kijiji all the time. People claiming to be over seas at war or in a divorce. All there emails follow the same lines as yours did.

i had my bmw motorcycle on craigslist, and had a “buyer” contact me asking me to send basically every identifying piece of paperwork for the bike including photos of the VIN and the UVIP package. and then he asked me for the exact address of where is was located…he then called me to follow up, and i saw the number was from utah (he originally claimed to be from toronto).
i emailed him and said the next time he was trying to steal a motorcycle, he might want to be a little less obvious. he basically said “ok, have a good day”…didn’t even deny it!
