hope you’re healing well from surgery!

have you ever experienced an ease of symptoms of your CRPS following anesthesia?

i had an anesthetic review prior to labour due to a various medical problems including my CRPS and was told that anesthetic (especially an epidural?) can sort of reset the nervous system and symptoms ease off for a while, or it can worsen it too – apparently people with CRPS also have a higher chance of reacting differently to the anesthetic – i wonder if this is what happened to you?

i ended up having an epidural during labour (not what i wanted) and had a pain free 2 weeks following the birth – it was bliss! unfortunately its back with a vengeance and is getting progressively worse again :(

The existence of pornography does not cause young stupid people to be degraded for money. The primary reasoning is that they are in fact young, stupid, and need money. We can’t blame the industry for the idiocy or supposed moral delinquency of consenting adults.

I’m a big feminist but I couldn’t even finish that god-awful book… I put it down after reading that he chose not to speak to any of the women involved in making the porn that he was analyzing. Speaking for women, on their behalf, without considering that they have any agency is about as unfeminist as you can get… what a jackass.
I do agree that some mainstream porn really gives young people ridiculous expectations about sex. But the rest of his analysis, oy. Terrible.

Interesting entry. I wonder what this fellow’s take is on women who have rape fantasies and enjoy simulated rape roleplaying? My girlfriend is one such woman, and she is often upset that I am not rough or forceful enough with her! My own view is that sex is broadly an expression of dominance/submissiveness and power play, and that no amount of PC posturing will change that.

I am a porn peruser and am interested in what causes these women to choose a life that on the surface looks rather demeaning. The key word being choice. I have enough respect for my own gender to never even consider that it isnt a choice and since it is, clearly this isnt a case of “keeping women down”. In any case, between myself and my husband, who’s libido is much higher than my own, I surf porn probably 5 times to his 1. Oh no, he must be somehow nefariously keeping me down! How insulting.

Andrea Dworkin…ugh! Say no more. I remember a radical feminist teacher of mine went as far as to say that women can’t rape and vigorously refuted any empirical evidence provided for her. Well, fuck me!–I suppose I must have been brainwashed to think I had been raped by a woman by a bunch of men hell bent on maintaining my false consciousness as it pertains to male domination! And my desire to fuck men, and the fact that I enjoy watching porn–also down to male domination…for a bunch of folk who weren’t too fond of men, they sure did preface women’s characteristics on a men’s. On the case of pornography, some years ago on BME you linked to https://www.adultdvdtalk.com, a site and discussion board that cleared my POV towards porn, porn talent and sex business in general.

I lieu of medieval cooking, may I suggest tempura – very fun for kids, tasty, and various berries are amazing fried and served over vanilla ice cream. In fact, skip the veggies and go straight for the fruits. Glad to hear the surgery went well, from a long time lurker.
