Religion and State are hardly separate… Remember Moral Majority? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_Majority)well the same stuff is still going on. I mean, how is religion and state really separate if you need to Christian to be voted into presidency? Granted the church dosnt have a direct impact on what happens, but Scope Trial-esk Majoritarianism still occurs in contemporary America.

If he is atheist, I hope it eventually comes out! That would be great.

I don’t think McCain is smart enough to handle how fucked up things are here now.

I think the separation of religion and state was the smartest thing the founding fathers of the U.S put into the constitution. I’m more than sorry to see Americans demanding religion with their politics.

I read BME for sometime, and I even stuck it out for a few months after you were officially gone, but it just wasn’t what it once was. So I’ve been lurking in the shadows here for sometime. I’m a college student in the Midwest, and this will be the second presidential election that I’m old enough to vote in. I voted with an absentee ballot the last time and my vote was therefore not counted. I’m excited and nervous for Tuesday. And I’ll be voting for Obama (and crossing my fingers that he’s a surprise atheist)!

Anyway, this post pretty much made my night. It’s nice to know that someone you look up to thinks the same thing that you do – so thank you for that :)
