It’s usually referred to as “Hardware Disease”. If an animal is doing poorly for no apparent reason, you can feed them a powerful magnet, on the theory that any metal the ingested that is irritating them will stick to it and be passed. Just in case you actually wanted to know :)

I know that seems strange, but I have heard that cows are fed magnets in order to draw all the bad magnetic stuff they eat into one area. (I don’t know if that is true- I haven’t asked a farmer yet)
